Thanks to you the kids can read again!

The last couple of weeks we have been very busy finishing up the loose ends in Guatemala and indulging in all the luxury that Europe has to offer. However, we want to give you all some final thanks for the wonderful response that we got to our request for donations. we consider the project one of our successes in the year:

What did we manage?

- We brought 24 children to the ophthalmologist for a consultation

- 18 children received a medical consultation and glasses, the remaining 6 received the medication that they needed

- For one child, who turned out to have some more severe problems with his eyes, we managed to pay for the operation he needed.

And after all this, there is still about 300 euros left. To make sure this money will be used for glasses and future consultations, we have left the money with the volunteer coordinator. The volunteer coordinator will carefully supervise the project's progress and keep me updated over email. In this way, we can ensure continuation of the project, since many children will need a follow-up consultation in 6 months.

If you have some more questions concerning the project, please don't hesitate to send me an email or leave a comment on the blog so I can contact you.

The child who needed an operation

This child (14 years old) already had a clinical problem, not being able to properly move the left side of his body and was too embarrassed to bring up his problems to see, since he didn't want more pity, just wanted to be normal. Only because Tobias had established a closer relation to this child, did he one day mention his eye-sight problems to him.

And what happened to David?

David is very happy with his new glasses and is enjoying himself being able to see everything again!

We want to thank you all for all your enthusiasm and support, it has been really wonderful to give this to the children. Thank you!!
